Reynolds High School and attended The Citadel, before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force. He married Vivian G. Hoots in 1943 and left soon after for England, where he flew a Lancaster bomber in missions over Europe. After World War II, Bill worked in sales for several companies, which led to a 30 year career as a manufacture r's representative of component parts to the furniture industry.
